Southwark College, part of NCG (a leading national provider of education and training), is looking to recruit a Work Placement Officer.

As Work Placement Officer, you will work with key staff across the college and externally to identify and gain suitable work placement/internship opportunities for students aged 16 -19 years of age. You will ensure that all students on a study programme complete the necessary hours in relation to work placement and internship activities.

The post holder will take up the role during an exciting time in our college journey, you will join a dynamic and supportive work placement team who are working hard to expand our work placement offer. The post will involve working with Head of Faculty in an area curriculum area to increase student work placements. This will involve a combination of managing existing work placement contacts and developing new opportunities.

Educated to at least Level 3 (A-Level or BTEC) and having GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above, you will possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to give presentations to groups of people including staff and students. You will have experience of working with young people and an understanding of the labour market and employer needs.  Work experience in 16 – 19 Study Programmes is also essential.  You will also possess strong customer relations skills and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and employers.
