At Southwark College, part of NCG, you will join a dynamic Senior team led by the College’s Principal, Vice Principal of Curriculum and Student Experience, Assistant Principal of Curriculum (16-18 Lead), Assistant Principal of Skills and Adult Education, and Professional service leads. This is a great opportunity to join Southwark College and an ambitious leadership team aiming to deliver outstanding education and exceptional experience for our students.
The Assistant Principal of Student Experience will be motivated by student success, have an advanced understanding of safeguarding, and an impactful team player. The post offers the opportunity to develop high-level leadership skills and work cross-group on key projects and priorities aligned to the role and responsibilities. With this motivation, the Assistant Principal will be able to deliver NCG’s strategic objectives and mission, demonstrating a commitment to the vision in all we do. The Principal is open to applications from ambitious middle management leaders who are looking for their next step as well as more experienced leaders who would like to broaden their experience.
As part of this exciting Assistant Principal role, you will:

Line manage and lead curriculum faculty of Supported Learning

Lead additional learning support and financial welfare

Lead the college strategy for inclusion, mental health and wellbeing

Lead customer service including telephony

Lead admissions, enrolment and high standard of careers education, information, advice and guidance

Be a great organiser with a good eye for detail, having high expectations for staff and students

Be a great team player

Have experience working with local stakeholders, such as employers, civic leaders and local councils

Share values of inclusive education and high expectations for all.

Please note there are two assessment days, which will be held on Monday 20th and Wednesday 22nd November. Day one (Monday 20 Nov) will consist of a series of activities; those applicants who are successful will be called back for Day 2 (Wed 22nd Nov), which will consist of a formal panel interview.
